Job Summary
Operations Supervisors directly supervise operations teams in attaining production safety quality service productivity cost reduction and other department goals. As a Warehouse Supervisor you will lead the logistics and storage operations ensuring alignment with supply chain objectives and fostering an environment of safety and efficiency. This role is primarily based on-site at our Longford facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Oversight
Workflow Management: Direct daily activities for receiving and dispatch ensuring labor resources are allocated effectively to meet fluctuating demand.
Logistics Coordination: Manage dock scheduling and coordinate with transport partners to ensure on-time delivery and pick-up.
Inventory Integrity: Lead cycle counting and full physical audits; investigate and resolve stock discrepancies within the ERP system.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Supervision: Manage a team of warehouse operatives providing clear daily briefings setting performance targets and conducting regular 1-on-1 appraisals.
Training: Onboard new hires and ensure all staff are cross-trained on various functions including the operation of automated systems and material handling equipment.
Culture: Foster a positive inclusive work environment that prioritizes employee engagement and retention.
3. Safety & Compliance
Regulatory Standards: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure all Manual Handling Equipment (forklifts conveyors) is maintained and operated safely.
Audit Readiness: Maintain a tour-ready facility by enforcing 5S organization standards and conducting regular safety walk-throughs.
4. Tech & Data Integration
System Proficiency: Utilize ERP and data dashboards to monitor real-time productivity and identify bottlenecks.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications :
- Sound knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to promote a safety-conscious culture and champion safety initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in tracking and managing operational metrics and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure best practices and standard operating procedures are being followed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate clear instructions and assign workloads.
- Proven ability to coach individuals and provide clear feedback while supporting growth and new skill development.
