Occupational Therapist Rehabilitation Travel Contract
Location: South Dennis Massachusetts
Duration: 13-Week Contract 40 Hours/Week
Shift: Day Shift MondayFriday 5x8 Schedule
Position Overview
A respected healthcare and rehabilitation organization in Massachusetts is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment. This position involves working with adult and pediatric patients across rehabilitation and home care settings to improve functional independence and quality of life.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical evaluation skills experience creating individualized treatment plans and the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate adult and pediatric patients and establish measurable treatment goals
- Develop and implement individualized Occupational Therapy treatment plans
- Perform assessments and diagnostic testing procedures to determine patient needs and prognosis
- Fabricate adaptive equipment and splints when appropriate
- Modify therapy approaches based on patient comprehension and physical abilities
- Reassess patient progress and update care plans accordingly
- Educate patients and families on therapy programs and home exercises
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams regarding patient care and discharge planning
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants aides and students as needed
- Maintain therapy equipment and assist with inventory management
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts
- Current BLS Certification
- Strong communication interpersonal and documentation skills
- Ability to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous rehabilitation or home care experience preferred
- OT Specialist Certification is a plus
