Job Summary
SUMMARY
The Automation/Systems Engineer is responsible for designing commissioning and maintaining all automation systems within TIMETs newly constructed industrial manufacturing site. Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills. They shall determine the vision and direction of the future of this cutting-edge facility from an Operational Technology (OT) perspective. Key systems of integration would include CMMS ERP MES and document control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for timely and on budget execution of Automation scope for projects at the site.
Team player who can communicate effectively with a wide range of disciplines and management team.
Develop and lead other projects at the site.
Server management VMs configuration & OP.
Create new programs and modify programs of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to solve known issues.
Proficient in Ladder logic structured text function block sequential function chart & APIs/Rest.
Integration with CMMS and equipment PLCs to leverage condition base monitoring.
Design and oversee implementation of new industrial control and safety rated electrical circuits.
Identify and propose solutions to electrical distribution and industrial control problems.
Plan schedule and coordinate detailed phases of work for electrical projects.
Advise and assist facilities engineers on electrical aspects of facilities projects.
Provide expert technical advice on problems concerning industrial control systems.
Provide guidance to electrical engineers so that all work done complies with plant standards.
Maintain documentation of the plants electrical distribution and industrial control systems.
A firm understanding of relational database structures and query languages.
An aptitude for translating complex technical subjects into clear business-oriented communication.
Maintain knowledge of the trends and technologies in data collection management data services and integrations.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation to minimize downtime and lost production.
Other duties and travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise knowledge and training in engineering and maintenance.
Extensive knowledge and training in product manufacturing.
General knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in manufacturing of forged or flat rolled metal products.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
General traits such as action oriented conflict manager decision maker comprehensive listener time manager and positive attitude.
Fulfill the roles of facilitator coach mentor and communicator to both peers and other members of the team.
Willing to work hands on and spend time on the factory floor supporting and learning processes and equipment.
Computer skills and the ability to advance those skills as required.

IEEE-Control Engineering.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5 Years of Controls-related Automation Experience.
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field
Formal training or experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
Certifications in AB ControlLogix Wonderware Intouch Wonderware Historian Wonderware System Platform / OMI Cisco Networking and Microsoft HyperV / Other Virtualization Software preferred.
Certifications in DELMIA Apriso Microsoft Server 2023 / 2025 Microsoft SQL and Power BI a plus.
Experience preferred in an industrial plant setting.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Adept at reading and creating electrical and control system drawings/documentation including line diagrams P&ID diagrams Ladder logic documentation.
Robotics programming Fanuc preferred.
Instrument Calibration oversight.
Experience with 3D/2D drafting software such as AutoCad.
Experience programming Allen Bradley Logix PLCs or equivalent Modicon Quantum PLCs or equivalent.
Experience in 480V and industrial control circuit design.
Thorough understanding of NFPA 70E (National Electric Code) ANSI/ISA Controls standards.
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in closed loop control circuits.
Understanding of motion control systems including hydraulic and servo motion controls.
Advanced understanding of Ethernet/IP Modbus and other network configurations.
Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC Platform.
SQL TSQL or PLSQL a plus.
VBAm C Perl Python.
General Software (MS Office).
Wonderware - Intouch OMI Historian system platform & other Wonderware tools as needed.
Web Reports - Power BI HTML 5.
Syteline ERP.
DELMIA Apriso / DELMIA 3D Apriso.
Familiarity with integrating Power Quality Meters (PQM) and Protective Relays in to control and data collection systems.
Improvement pipelines department KPIs and self-driven.
Data Management.
Statistical Packages - Minitab R.
