Toyotas Production Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Group Leader.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support production needs bydevelopingteam members and team leaderslead team member skill enhancement activities coordinate major breakdown investigation and reoccurrence prevention activitymonitorkey performance indicators and initiate activity toaccomplishdepartment and company goals.
Reporting to the manager the person in this role will support theobjectiveto lead/manage team members.
What youll be doing
Manage a group of hourly team leaders and team members providing direct communication and leadership to ensure a safe operating environment.
Demonstrateleadership skills to achieve/exceed all safety quality cost and team member developmentobjectives.
Provide/coordinate training and developmental opportunities fosteringa respectforpeopleenvironment.
Utilizestrong communicationskills as the primary communication link between leadership and the production team. Collaboration with other areas and departments within Toyota giving regular informal and formal updates to Toyota senior leadership.
Daily Management of an assigned area including safety quality productivity cost and team member development.
Utilizeproblem solving skills to visualize andeliminateprocessbottlenecks improve equipment/tooling and team member ergonomics. Engage your team insystematic problem-solving activityand Quality Circles to resolve issues and develop your teams capabilities.
Must be capable ofutilizingengineering principles to resolveday-to-dayconcerns andbe capable of understanding team member conceptual ideas and developing them into practical applications and solutions. Mustpossessa certain degree of creativity and have a strong mechanical ability/background.
Utilizeproject management and planning skills to translate the division annual business plan to daily activities for your team.
Manage area budget including operating supplies raw materials staffing - continuously looking for improvement opportunities.
What you bring
- Bachelors degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience (10 years) in industrial equipment maintenance/engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Leadership/supervisory experience (3 years) in a skilled maintenance engineering manufacturing or a supply chain role in a lean manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in project management
