About the Role

Full time (35 hours/week) Ongoing Position

The Team Leader Community Programs is responsible for leading and managing the Community Programs team to design deliver and continuously improve initiatives that support Link Wentworth residents and their communities.

This role has a strong placebased and community development focus leading programs that respond to the unique needs strengths and priorities of local neighbourhoods. You will work closely with tenants to codesign initiatives that build community connection enhance a sense of safety and strengthen individual and community resilience.

The role champions tenant voice ensures programs are inclusive traumainformed and evidencebased and embeds impactdriven practices across the organisation. You will foster collaboration across Link Wentworth build strong relationships with external stakeholders and the Tenant Advisory Group and ensure community insights inform decisionmaking at all levels.

In this role you will:

Lead and Manage the Team

  • Inspire and guide a highperforming Community Programs team through strong strategic and operational leadership. Provide mentoring support and clear direction while fostering a culture of collaboration reflection innovation and continuous improvement focused on community outcomes.

Deliver Community Programs and Services

  • Lead the design implementation and evaluation of placebased programs informed by tenant voice local need and evidence. Ensure services are inclusive culturally responsive accessible and aligned with organisational priorities while supporting safer more connected and resilient communities.

Build Partnerships Collaborate and Raise Organisational Profile

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government nongovernment organisations local services and community housing providers to maximise impact address community safety and wellbeing and identify new opportunities. Actively represent Link Wentworth at sector forums networks and through award nominations.

Drive Tenant Voice and Engagement

  • Empower tenants to influence decisions that affect their lives and neighbourhoods through effective consultation codesign processes tenant advisory groups and participation opportunities that strengthen inclusion leadership wellbeing and community ownership.

Lead Neighbourhood Improvement Initiatives

  • Plan coordinate and deliver neighbourhoodlevel initiatives that respond to local priorities and conditions. Apply placebased and strengthsfocused approaches to support community safety social connection pride of place and longterm resilience.

Foster Community Safety & Resilience

  • Support programs and partnerships that enhance tenants sense of safety and belonging reduce isolation and strengthen community capacity to respond to change and adversity. Ensure initiatives are informed by local context lived experience and traumainformed practice.

Ensure Continuous Service Improvement

  • Use tenant feedback community insights and program data to inform planning and decisionmaking. Monitor performance against KPIs evaluate outcomes and drive innovation and service improvements across all Community Programs.

Manage Budgets

  • Oversee financial management for programs ensure value for money for the Community Programs team.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in community development social work or another discipline aligned with the responsibilities of the role
  • A strong passion for people leadership with demonstrated experience building and supporting highperforming teams
  • Proven experience designing and delivering placebased or communityled programs that make a tangible difference to communities
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer and tenantcentred practice with a strong record of effective engagement
  • Experience initiating change and driving service improvement informed by evidence data and lived experience
  • Knowledge of project management processes with experience leading programs from design through to evaluation
  • Highlevel rapport building engagement and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and promote organisationwide collaboration
  • Strong organisational and timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines

You will also need to have

  • A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) to the satisfaction of Link Wentworth to be renewed every five (5) years or more frequently as reasonably required by Link Wentworth
  • Willingness to comply with vaccination requirements imposed by Link Wentworth including COVID-19 and other vaccinations as determined by the organisation in accordance with current Government health advice mandates or directions
  • Willingness to travel between Link Wentworth offices in metropolitan Sydney
  • Access to a registered and roadworthy vehicle
  • Willingness to be office-based five (5) days per week
  • A current drivers licence valid in the state of NSW
