Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Information Development Expert to lead the quality structure and usability of consumer print support content. This role acts as a senior language and content professional ensuring documentation is clear cohesive user-centric and ready for both human and AI consumption. The position serves as a subject matter expert content strategist and developmental editor working closely with authors product teams and stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development & Quality
Serve as a developmental editor for consumer print support documentation including review and final sign-off.
Ensure strong content structure flow logic and cohesion eliminating gaps or inconsistencies.
Apply and maintain content strategies content sets and standards across documentation.
Ensure documentation is optimized for customer experience usability by humans and AI readiness.
Deliver content that is publishing-ready for both print and digital channels.
Technical Content Expertise
Analyze customer information requirements and product specifications to define content strategies and plans.
Design and develop written and/or visual technical content including user guides configuration guides troubleshooting content and online help systems.
Develop and maintain standards templates styles and reusable content assets to ensure a consistent look and feel.
Apply advanced knowledge of DITA metadata and structured content principles.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Provide guidance education and constructive feedback to authors and content requestors.
Act as a customer advocate to help define and refine product requirements.
Collaborate with R&D support marketing manufacturing and other cross-functional teams as part of product development initiatives.
Represent the organization as a content expert in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategy Improvement & Leadership
Contribute to content strategy and tactical execution aligned with vertical business solutions.
Identify opportunities for content workflow and process improvements and drive their implementation.
Participate in and lead initiatives focused on AI usage in content creation including use-case testing.
Provide mentoring guidance and training to lower-level contributors.
Exercise independent judgment to solve complex content and business challenges.
Required Skills Qualification and Experience
Advanced subject matter expertise in information development and technical documentation.
Four-year or Graduate Degree in any related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated
Strong background in developmental editing structured content and content quality management.
Proven ability to work on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis and multi-factor evaluation.
Experience establishing content standards policies and best practices.
Ability to lead or significantly contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
