Reporting to theContinuous Improvement Engineering Manager theManufacturing Engineerisresponsible forsupporting sustaining and improving manufacturing and quality operations. Our X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers deliver high-performance elemental analysis used in applications that improve public safety regulatory compliance and industrial efficiency.
In this position you willprovide mechanical engineeringexpertisewithin Operations managing projects associated with engineering and process changes that drive quality process improvements and value engineering(VAVE). You will bridge the gap between design and production by leading product transfer activities during New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensuring technical risks are mitigated prior to launch.
This is a high-impact role where success is measured by your ability to drive performance across Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety Quality Delivery and Productivity. Working cross-functionally with Engineering R&D and Quality you will troubleshoot complex electromechanical systemsidentifyroot causes for failures and implement data-driven improvements that improve our profitability and reduce lead timescrapand rework.
This position is part of theContinuous Improvement teamlocatedinEast Greenbush New York and will be onsite.
In this role a typical day will look like:
Manufacturing Implementation:Own the manufacturing implementation of engineering changes and new product introduction (NPI) to transition from engineering design to manufacturing.
Process Engineering:Drive continuous improvement using LEAN Manufacturing VES tools (VeraltoEnterprise System) to define measure and control production processes.
Root Cause Analysis:Participatein troubleshooting of analyzers byidentifyingfailures in their electromechanical subsystems and individual components todetermineroot causes of failures and improve first pass yield (FPY).
Technical Risk Management:Participatein design and process FMEA exercises to ensure technical risks areidentifiedand mitigated before product launch.
Design Review:Review of mechanical and electrical drawings toidentifydesign changes that positively impact reliability and cost.
Change Management:Review and update bills of materials (BOM) Standard Work and inventory via the engineering change.
Cross-Functional Teamwork:Coordinate engineering changes with commercial apps engineeringsoftwareand procurement teams.
Training & Mentorship:Train and coach operations personnel on critical manufacturing controls best practices and troubleshooting empowering our associates to understand failure modes in their process and drive improvements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education: Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Technical Proficiency:Experience withmechanical modeling using SolidWorks or equivalent -depth knowledge of interpreting complex electromechanical drawings.
Demonstrated experience performing Product and Supplier Quality improvements.
Experienceidentifyingand implementing process changes.
Desired Skills / Experience
Experience: 3 years in mechanical/manufacturing engineering is a plus.
Lean Manufacturing: Experience with Kaizen Root cause analysis Lean manufacturing methodologies.
Variation Reduction: Experience in yield improvement and variation reduction methodologies.
Tooling Design: Ability to design and implement production improvements such as tools jigs and fixtures.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $70000 - $85000 USD per year.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
