AtkinsRéaliss Minerals and Metals team in Canada is made up of more than 400 employees who work on large-scale projects to support mining sustainability pit-to-port opportunities metallurgical plant engineering or mine closure and capabilities in the study design and construction of mining projects across a wide range of mining and processing methods and commodities. We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our Minerals & Metals Department. The successful candidate will report to the Planning & Scheduling Department. The person in this position will work closely with all disciplines and project Managers to manage all planning & Scheduling subjects.

This role will be based in Toronto Ontario.

Your role

  • Lead the development of the overall project planning and scheduling strategy including schedule structure logic phasing milestones and integration across disciplines.
  • Ensure full schedule integration across engineering procurement construction and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure alignment between schedule cost progress measurement and Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
  • Support the preparation and validation of executive level dashboards client reports and progress narratives.
  • Provide clear actionable insights to Project Directors senior management and clients regarding schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the schedule impacts of scope changes variations and claims including time impact and delay analyses / support claim avoidance and dispute resolution by providing robust schedule logic documentation and analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership coaching and mentoring to junior and intermediate planners/ contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including tools templates lessons learned and best practices.

About you

  • Bachelors degree is required; a degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling. Previous experience supporting EPCM projects is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous experience working on mining and metallurgy projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 with strong knowledge of integrated project controls systems and processes.
  • Strong expertise in critical path analysis Earned Value Management (EVM) schedule risk analysis and delay analysis methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and confidently with clients executive stakeholders and project leadership teams. Written and spoken bilingualism in French and English is considered a significant asset.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $125000 - $150000 annually) (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
