We are looking for three positions to strengthen the automation & innovative capability of one of Japans biggest contract logistics forwarders.
- Solution Designer (The Architect): Focuses on the What and How much. You analyze customer data to design warehouse layout specify the hardware and calculate the costs during the pre-sales or bidding phase.
- Systems Specialist (The Brains): Focuses on the logic. You configure the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ensure the hardware (scanners AMRs) communicates perfectly with the digital platform.
- Implementation Manager (The Builder): Focuses on the Execution. You take the signed-off design and manage the physical setup vendor timelines and go-live on the warehouse floor.
High-Level Job Descriptions (Tokyo-Based)
1. Solution Designer - Hardware (Physical & Infrastructure)
- Mission: Act as the technical lead for pre-sales translating complex customer data into a physical warehouse blueprint.
- Contract Logistics Focus: You will be responsible for E2E hardware design including CAD layouts racking specifications and automated material handling equipment (MHE) selection.
- Key Tasks: Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) conduct material flow analysis and provide technical documentation for customer proposals.
- Requirements: Minimum 5 years in Contract Logistics design. Strong AutoCAD and warehouse simulation.
2. System Specialist - Business Implementation
- Mission: Ensure the digital skeleton of the solution is configured to meet business requirements and integrates seamlessly with physical hardware.
- Contract Logistics Focus: Lead WMS/WCS configuration and hardware integration (scanners printers RF devices) for new client on-boarding.
- Key Tasks: Bridge the gap between operations and IT manage technical user requirements and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the integrated hardware/software solution.
- Requirements: Strong background in Contract Logistics IT systems. Experience with WMS deployment and troubleshooting hardware-to-cloud connectivity.
3. Project Manager - Implementation
- Mission: Lead the transition from a theoretical design to a live stable operational site.
- Contract Logistics Focus: Manage the full project lifecycle of a site setup including CAPEX budgets vendor management for hardware installation and operational hypercare.
- Key Tasks: Coordinate cross-functional teams (HR IT Ops) manage critical path timelines for racking and MHE installation and ensure a clean handover to the permanent operations team.
- Requirements: Proven track record in Contract Logistics project management. Experience managing multi-million dollar site implementations in Japan.
