Maples Surgical Centre a division of Clearpoint Health Network is an independent surgical and medical facility located in Winnipeg. Since 2001 we have been committed to providing patients with high-quality care and reduced wait times through a multidisciplinary approach to surgical services and consultations. Fully accredited as a Non-Hospital Surgical Facility by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba we uphold the highest standards of patient care safety and accountability while supporting and complementing the public healthcare system.

Reporting to the Director of Operations the Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for the strategic planning coordination and oversight of clinical services. This senior leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care regulatory and accreditation compliance and supports the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a multidisciplinary clinical team to foster collaboration and staff engagement across all levels.
  • Ensure staffing levels and ratios align with patient acuity workload and College standards.
  • Support ongoing professional development in partnership with facility team.

Physician & Medical Staff Coordination

  • Lead physician recruitment efforts alongside the Medical Director.
  • Oversee completion of credentialing and privilege applications.

Quality & Accreditation

  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical quality efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Prepare the site for Accreditation Canada and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Facilitate monthly / quarterly Quality and Medical Advisory Committee meetings.

Program & Service Development

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development and implementation of new clinical programs and services.

Regulatory & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate monthly and annual reporting.
  • Contribute to reporting on clinical operations and performance.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor clinical revenue and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Manage clinical budgets support CAPEX planning and oversee clinical equipment evaluations.
  • Maintain cost controls for medical and office supplies in collaboration with operations.

Confidentiality & Compliance

  • Safeguard patient privacy and ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.

Technology & Innovation

  • Stay current with clinical best practices and advancements in medical technology
  • Support and lead the adoption integration and optimization of organizational technological advancements including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to enhance clinical workflows and patient care.
  • Promote staff engagement and training initiatives to ensure effective utilization of new technologies and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Education Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate of Nursing and/or Masters in Nursing Business or other relevant area
  • Current Registered Nurse in good standing
  • MBA or equivalent business degree

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years working in a perioperative clinical setting with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibilities and complexity of role
  • A minimum 5 years of formal leadership with a demonstrated ability to lead high performing multidisciplinary teams in a clinical setting

  • Knowledge of the medical industrys legal rules legislation and guidelines
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
  • Robust negotiating skills
  • Strong Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation current nursing and healthcare practices; demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care and service
