Software Development Engineer, One MHS Software, Controls, and Science

This dynamic team develops and maintains tools for automating the deployment management and monitoring of complex material handling systems including conveyor networks work cells and industrial control systems.

We are seeking a passionate Software Development Engineer to innovate in building Human Machine Interfacing Platforms to join the SCS team within the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Robotics organization.

Amazons Operations Technology teams are the technical engines that support Amazons mission of being Earths most customer-centric company. We build the software and services that touch every Amazon customer globally and innovate solutions for logistics supply chain optimization and transportation. For additional information on Operations Technology: job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs to support system visualization platforms
- Develop tooling for performance monitoring testing and deployment automation
- Collaborate with Front End Engineers and UX designers to create integrated solutions
- Implement secure and efficient data processing systems for industrial control systems
- Create and maintain documentation for backend services and APIs
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions

About the team

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in robotics design automation systems development control systems design or related product development
- Experience operating highly available distributed systems of data extraction ingestion and processing of large data sets or experience in technical support
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial protocols

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
