Our Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) Orthopedic & Sports Medicine clinic supports several orthopedic physicians and APPs including non-surgical sports medicine surgical orthopedics and interventional physiatry. We are one of several locations that serve the greater Charlotte region for orthopedic care. We support athletes for our local high schools and colleges. This position will support 2 non-surgical sports medicine physicians.

Preferred Experience: Preferred to have experience working in the clinical setting or at least 2 years of Clinic Athletic Training experience.

The Athletic Trainer provides patient education regarding injury prevention anatomy body mechanics and rehabilitation. The primary mission of the Athletic Trainer is to progress athletes through rehabilitation protocols and return them functionally to a state comparable to pre-injury. When necessary he/she refers individuals to the appropriate specialist or General Practitioner.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:
A. Education
1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
2. Completion of an accredited curriculum established by the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA) Board of Certification required

B. Experience
1. Knowledge of the Athletic Training profession as normally acquired through academic experience clinical affiliations and/or previous work experience in the field

C. Licensure/Certification
1. Licensed as an Athletic Trainer NATA Board of Certification/applicable state Athletic Trainers Associations
