Mathematics Teaching Role in an Island School Setting

A secondary school on the Isle of Wight is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that is committed to strong academic progress inclusive education and student development.

About the Role

You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that cover number algebra geometry statistics and mathematical reasoning.

Students will be prepared for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations through structured teaching targeted intervention and regular assessment.

You will support learners across a broad range of abilities helping them develop confidence and resilience within a positive classroom environment.

You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and student progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver lessons covering core mathematical concepts

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

• Support intervention and revision sessions where required

• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

Candidate Requirements

The school is seeking a teacher who can deliver effective Mathematics lessons and support students across multiple key stages.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively

• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

• Strong classroom management skills

• Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics

• Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

• Ability to contribute to enrichment or intervention programmes
