Mathematics Teaching Role in a STEM Academy

A STEM-focused academy in Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that places strong emphasis on academic excellence innovation and problem-solving across science technology engineering and mathematics subjects.

Mathematics is central to the curriculum with students encouraged to develop analytical thinking reasoning skills and confidence in advanced mathematical concepts.

About the Role

You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering lessons that cover number algebra geometry statistics mechanics and mathematical reasoning.

Students will be prepared for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations through structured teaching targeted intervention and regular assessment.

You will support learners in developing resilience logical thinking and confidence in applying mathematics to real-world and STEM-related contexts.

You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and curriculum delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver lessons covering core and advanced mathematical concepts

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

• Support intervention extension and enrichment activities

• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

Candidate Requirements

The academy is seeking a teacher who can deliver effective Mathematics lessons and support students across multiple key stages.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively

• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

• Strong classroom management skills

• Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics

• Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

• Interest in STEM enrichment or mathematical competitions
