Position Overview

ResMed is seeking two Data Entry Clerks to support order resolution activities related to patient prescriptions and physician communications. These roles are critical in reducing held sales orders and improving workflow efficiency.

The hiring manager noted that this need has existed since approximately June of last year and became more urgent following the ResMed acquisition and increased visibility into operational challenges.

Business Background

A large portion of current data entry operations are performed offshore in India. While the offshore team successfully handles high-volume data entry physician offices are often reluctant to share PHI-sensitive information with offshore representatives.

As a result:

  • Certain orders remain unresolved
  • Sales orders are delayed or placed on hold
  • US-based personnel are now needed to contact physician offices directly and resolve missing information

The hiring team emphasized that these positions are important operationally and that the need is expected to continue long term.

Headcount
  • Approved openings: 2
  • Contract duration: Initial 6-month contract
  • Potential for extension or conversion based on business needs and performance
Key Responsibilities

Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing prescriptions and patient orders for accuracy
  • Identifying missing or incorrect information
  • Contacting physician offices to obtain clarification or corrections
  • Updating information within internal systems
  • Resolving incomplete or invalid orders
  • Supporting orders through to sales processing
  • Handling outbound communication with physician offices

Examples of verbally obtainable information:

  • Patient address
  • Zip code
  • Phone number

Examples requiring formal documentation:

  • Diagnosis codes
  • Prescription corrections
  • Procedure-related information
Volume and Productivity Expectations

The department handles approximatelyorders daily across:

  • Pulse oximetry
  • Home sleep testing (HST)
  • MCT
  • EEG workflows

Current operations also include approximately 50 offshore data entry personnel.

Expected productivity:

  • Minimum of approximately 50 resolved orders per day
Candidate Profile Required Skills
  • Prior data entry experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable making outbound calls
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn internal systems quickly
Preferred Experience
  • Insurance verification
  • Healthcare administration

Healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory if candidates demonstrate strong aptitude and professionalism.

Training and Work Environment

Training will be provided on:

The hiring manager oversees multiple operational teams and prefers candidates who are self-sufficient and require minimal micromanagement.

Schedule and Work Location Work Hours

Preferred schedule:

  • Approximately 10:00 AM 6:00 PM Eastern Time

This schedule supports operations across both Eastern and Pacific time zones.

JOB SUMMARY:
Completes data entry of faxes for specific testing as required. Defines proper status for all documentation
processed to ensure compliance guidelines are met to allow billing processes to be implemented correctly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacts professionally with physicians &/or DMEs to retrieve needed information for data entry
of patients.
Enters patient information into the computer system with accuracy.
Verifies and approves patient demographic and health insurance information with accuracy.
Completes indexing daily goals.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to Managers and fellow co-workers
Establishes and maintains effective communication and good working relationship with co
workers for our patients and customers benefits.
Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and good judgment within the scope of practice.
Completes other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
