Duties & Responsibilities
Job & Company Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and competitive Electrical and Instrumentation estimates for engineering and construction projects. You will work closely with engineering procurement and management teams ensuring tenders are professionally compiled fully compliant and commercially sound. The role requires strong attention to detail contractual awareness and the ability to work independently under pressure.Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5 years technical experience in Electrical & Instrumentation estimating
- Proven ability to compile professional tenders for E&I projects
- Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts
- Experience with CCS (Candy) estimating software
- Computer literacy with MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management and multitasking capability
- High levels of integrity and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Electrical and Instrumentation cost estimates as directed
- Review and interpret tender documents specifications and drawings
- Verify accuracy of bills of quantities material take-offs and specifications
- Prepare E&I material take-offs when engineering support is unavailable
- Conduct commercial adjudications of supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Compile complete cost estimates in line with company norms and procedures
- Participate in the development and implementation of improved estimating techniques
- Conduct site visits as required to support estimating accuracy
- Maintain detailed spreadsheets bid analyses and full document traceability
- Ensure strict compliance with company estimating procurement and QA procedures
- Support the Estimating Manager with additional tasks as required
