- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the company including general ledger activities petty cash management Cash to Master (CTM) arrangements and month-end closing processes.
- Review and approve journal entries related to accruals amortizations intercompany transactions reversals and other month-end adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner to maintain accurate financial records and ledger integrity.
- Support the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports management reporting packs and variance analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial and operational performance identify trends and key business drivers and provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of DA reports and vessel-related charges with complete supporting documentation for submission to regional or head office teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and key stakeholders to improve accounting processes strengthen internal controls and support operational efficiency.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with IFRS/PFRS BIR regulations statutory requirements and company policies while supporting external and internal audit activities.
- Mentor and guide accounting staff by providing technical support reviewing work output and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives ERP enhancements and automation projects to streamline accounting and reporting functions.
- Perform other ad hoc accounting reporting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA license is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
- Prior experience in the shipping maritime or shared services industry is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/PFRS) internal controls taxation and regulatory compliance including BIR requirements.
- Experience in handling month-end closing account reconciliations financial analysis and management reporting.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data identify issues perform root-cause analysis and recommend practical business solutions.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP Oracle or similar accounting platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
