DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATOR B

PEROMNES POST LEVEL 10

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for delivering an effective and comprehensive administrative service to the Unit for Forensic Accounting and the staff members of the Department of Auditing.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Personal assistance to the staff members of the Unit;
  • General administration for the academic personnel and Unit operations;
  • Teaching and learning enquiries and administration;
  • Research enquiries and administration;
  • Postgraduate application and selection administration;
  • Updating of study guides and posting content on clickUP Ultra;
  • All administrative arrangements pertaining to examinations; and
  • Administrative arrangements pertaining to copyright.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Grade 12 with at least four (4) years office administration and secretarial administration experience in a tertiary education environment; OR
  • Relevant National three-year Diploma with at least two (2) years office administration and secretarial administration experience in a tertiary education environment;
  • Excellent computer skills including basic database management and proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel; and
  • A drivers license.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
  • Appropriate professional communication and language skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work under pressure without compromising detail and accuracy;
  • Strong display of customer service acumen;
  • The ability and sophistication needed to interact with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to prioritize work independently and handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy;
  • Good administrative skills;
  • Ability to handle confidential information; and
  • Good interpersonal skills.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
  • A relevant degree;
  • Experience with PeopleSofts Student Services Centre and the Financial and Enterprise Request Systems.
  • Experience with clickUP or other learning management systems in the tertiary education environment.

PLEASE NOTE: All shortlisted candidates may be required to participate in relevant skills assessments as part of the selection process.

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
