****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions:

To begin as soon as May 2026 for up to89 days but may end sooner dependent on availability of funding and program need. Must be available to work during office business hours M-F 7:45am to 4:30pm.


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with participant recruitment and coordination using respondent-driven sampling (RDS)

  2. Develop and prepare research materials including recruitment and survey materials

  3. Program test and manage surveys using Qualtrics

  4. Distribute surveys and communicate with participants and community partners

  5. Track recruitment chains and manage survey data records

  6. Conduct data cleaning and prepare datasets for analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in communication social sciences or related field.
  2. Ability or demonstrated ability to conduct survey research and manage participant recruitment in community-based settings.
  3. Working knowledge of Qualtrics or similar survey platforms and basic data management and analysis tools (e.g. Excel SPSS).
  4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team environment.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Experience with respondent-driven sampling (RDS) or community-based research.
  2. Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English.
  3. Experience with data management and cleaning using statistical software (e.g. SPSS Excel).
