Finance Manager (URGENT) - Alberton
We are seeking a Finance admin Manager to be responsible for the financial controllership and accounting function within a leading company in the energy and bitumen (asphalt) supply sector ensuring best practices are implemented and strong financial leadership is provided.
The role in Albertonwill also oversee administrative compliance of the business including BBBEE requirements and other regulatory obligations.
This position plays a key role in fostering a diverse empowered and high-performing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Support the CFO in deploying and integrating the finance organization.
- Prepare deliverables for internal and external financial reporting including insightful
analytic commentary.
- Supervise and support the finance teams work ensuring accuracy completeness and
compliance.
- Critically review accounting records and recommend necessary journal entries ensuring
accurate treatment of non-current transactions provisions and estimates. Review
monthly quarterly and annual balance sheet and P&L accounts including
reconciliations.
- Draft and execution of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with local
regulations for statutory purposes as well as with IFRS for Group Consolidation
purposes
- Prepare forecasts and budgets including analysis of actual performance versus
budget/forecast.
- Lead period-end close activities ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ensure timely and high-qualitative reporting aligned with both Group and local
requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on research IFRS tax matters and existing and new
regulations.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure that their findings and
recommendations are adequately and promptly addressed.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Contribute to defining and implementation of new finance policies and procedures and
as week as finance optimization initiatives.
- Oversee Treasury operations including full cash cycle management
- Provide direct support to Managing Director in the evaluation and application of hedging
instruments in line with business needs and risk management strategies.
- Critically analyses the accounting treatment of hedging activities ensuring alignment
between underlying operations and their correct recording in the financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax returns (VAT Income Tax and other
statutory obligations)
BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment)
- Drive initiatives to improve the companys BBBEE scorecard particularly in skills
development and procurement
- Report on BBBEE compliance
Staff Management & Reporting
- Lead motivate and develop the finance team ensuring clear roles responsibilities and
performance expectations.
- Ensure all members of the company understand and comply with BBBEE requirements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development
opportunities.
- Promote a collaborative high-performance culture aligned with company values.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting from all staff reporting into the role.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or equivalent in accounting or finance (CA(SA) advantageous).
- Relevant experience in finance (financial controlling/manager or similar).
- Familiarity with BBBEE compliance
- Strong analytical reasoning and ability to manage shifting priorities.
Technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 especially Excel.
- Experience with ERP and modern collaboration tools.
Soft Skills
- High initiative anticipation and sense of urgency.
- Adaptability to tight deadlines and high standards.
- Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage constructively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills in English
Salary: R50 000 R70 000 per month (CTC) slightly negotiable based on experience
