Job Summary

Team Member Key Holder
Position Summary:
This role is responsible in the preparation of making biscuits and other unique dishes in the kitchen as well as helping open and close the eateries. The position is responsible for performing routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients helping customers working with team members and holds a key to the eateries.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and bakes biscuits and baked goods; prepares and combines necessary ingredients and follows recipes as needed.
  • Provides leadership in being a key holder - support the opening and closing of two eateries in downtown Charleston.
  • Assists in determining appropriate quantity of food items for cooking and baking; adjusts and extends recipes as needed; maintains food quality standards including appearance and nutritional requirements.
  • Monitors temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitors water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
  • Cleans equipment utensils and appliances and stores food supplies; assures compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations; cleans refrigerators and storerooms as required.
  • Assists in storing unused food and supplies; disposes of unusable leftovers; utilizes proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
  • Operates a variety of standard kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Requires frequent bending stooping and twisting
  • Most duties are performed while standing
  • Requires repetitive motion with hands and arms
  • Exposure to various temperature changes
  • Requires reading writing and average math skills
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Baking experience a plus.
  • Ability to follow a recipe.
  • Principles and methods of quantity food service preparation serving and storage.
  • Sanitation and safety practices related to handling cooking baking and serving food.
  • Methods of preparing and serving food in large quantities. Proper methods of storing equipment materials and supplies.
  • Standard kitchen equipment utensils and measurements and health and safety regulations.
  • Available to work mornings afternoons and weekends if needed.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
