About the Role

The Business and PartnershipsLead is responsible for leading and coordinating QDN Consultings businessdevelopment and partnership functions across agreed priority areas. The roleprovides strategic oversight of relationship-based growth activities ensuringa sustainable and well-managed pipeline of work that supports QDNs purpose anddisability-led approach.

The Business and PartnershipsLead reports to the Manager Projects and Innovation and works closely with theGeneral Manager senior colleagues and QDN members to position QDN as atrusted provider of inclusive disability-led consultancy and engagementservices. The role may provide guidance and direction to other staff andconsultants contributing to business development and partnership activities.

As Business and PartnershipsLead you bring senior-level experience in business development partnershipsor related roles within professional services social enterprise governmentor community-led organisations. You demonstrate sound professional judgement astrategic approach to relationship-based work and a commitment to deliveringoutcomes that align with QDNs purpose values and disability-led approach.

You model ethical accessibleand inclusive practice and contribute to the quality and integrity ofconsulting activities in line with QDNs Quality System and relevantlegislative and policy frameworks including the Queensland Human Rights Act.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Highlydeveloped interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability tobuild maintain and steward strong relationships that reflect QDNs values andmission.
  • Demonstratedexperience leading end-to-end business development and partnership activitiescontributing to sustainable work pipelines and organisational viability.
  • Provencapability in preparing high-quality proposals tenders and expressions ofinterest that clearly communicate lived-experience-led value and impact.
  • Strongstakeholder and account management with government and corporate clientsbuilding trust repeat work and referrals.
  • Demonstratedstrategic leadership and commercial acumen partnering effectively withdelivery teams overseeing complex initiatives and driving creative solutionfocused outcomes.
  • Exceptionalnegotiation and influencing skills with the ability to provide expert adviceto internal stakeholders to progress opportunities and agreements.
  • Strongdigital and systems capability (including CRM pipeline dashboards and proposallibraries) to improve efficiency support planning coordination andorganisational insight.
  • Theability to operate effectively in a small dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ethical values aligned business development that advancesQDNs mission and impact.
  • Understanding or awareness of co-design and systemic advocacy anddisability-led approaches.
  • Agenuine passion for social impact and an alignment with QDNs vision.

What will you do in the role

  1. Lead and coordinate QDNs consultings business development and partnership activities across key priority sectors (e.g. Government corporate Brisbane 2032 Games) aligning with QDNs mission and strategic goals.
  2. Identify and progress opportunities for new and ongoing work through relationship-based engagement with clients and partners.
  3. Lead the preparation of proposals tender responses and EOIs including pricing scope and delivery plans that effectively communicate QDN Consultings value proposition.
  4. Work collaboratively with project delivery leads to support scoping resourcing and scheduling of activities in line with capacity and priorities.
  5. Oversee and contribute to project delivery collaborating with consultants and subject matter experts to ensure outputs are well-structured accessible and aligned with client expectations.
  6. Produce client outputs including reports presentations and recommendations that translate insights into practical high-quality deliverables.
  7. Manage facilitate and nurture key client relationships and projects to ensure satisfaction repeat engagements and referrals.
  8. Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to develop and refine scalable packaged service offerings.
  9. Monitor and analyse market trends and client feedback to inform ongoing service development and pricing strategies.
  10. Coordinate QDN Consultings brand and marketing activities with Communications ensuring consistent positioning and visibility across channels and materials.
  11. Maintain CRM including opportunity stages values and close dates generating monthly pipeline and win-loss reports.
  12. Contribute to forecasting and forward planning to support a sustainable and well-managed pipeline of work.
  13. Fulfil other responsibilities as directed by the General Manager Communications Member and Strategic Engagement or theCEO contributing to strategy and leadership.

Key Relationships

The role of Business and Partnership Lead- reportsdirectly to Manager Projects and Innovation. The role works closelywith QDN delivery leads communications finance and QDN members to positionwin and deliver consulting engagements. This role will align with the overallteam goals of generating revenue funding innovation partnerships andorganisational growth. The role manages relationships with prospective andcurrent clients across Government business community not-for-profit sectorand wider industry to ensure client satisfaction and growth.

Key job requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications inbusiness marketing communications or a related field (or equivalentexperience).
  • Experience in disability sector highly regarded.
