GENERAL DESCRIPTION:This position supports the Grants & General Accounting team. Supports enforcement of state and federal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Monitors grant expenditures and revenues using weekly WOLFS data to initiate the federal drawdown of funds and compile federal reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.- Monitor federal awards analyze expenditures and revenues for federal reporting and assist in federal drawdown of funds.
- Prepare fiscal reports for grant expenditures and subsequent requests for federal reimbursement of federal grant funds utilizing the various payment systems of the federal agencies. Reconcile the grant fiscal expenditures with the federal revenue received as reimbursement for state funds expended.
- Process expense vouchers for the Agency.
- Assist with FFATA reporting of federal grants.
- Provide fiscal support on questions regarding federal grants.
- Develop and assist in fiscal training for the Agency.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge in the Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS).
KNOWLEDGE:- Must be familiar with Governmental Accounting GAAP GASB and the governmental budget process.
- Knowledge and skills in fund accounting including auditing practices knowledge of State and Federal laws rules regulations and statutes and knowledge of grant management.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel Access and Word.
- Skill in financial review and development of periodic reports excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of the state accounting (WOLFS) system.
- Ability to gather data and review analytically to answer questions and resolve problems ability to handle several projects or tasks at once and meet deadlines; attention to detail; organize and follow a task through to completion with little supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelors Degree (typically in Finance)Experience:0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior AccountantOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior AccountantCertificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there may be some walking standing bending carrying light items driving an automobile etc.
