Job Title: Chip Spinner / Material Handler Job Status: Full-time Employee Department: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor / Operations Manager Summary/Objective The Chip Spinner / Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting daily machining operations by ensuring efficient handling of metal chips raw materials work-in-process (WIP) and finished goods. This position is responsible for operating chip processing equipment maintaining clean and organized work areas and supporting production flow to minimize downtime. This role requires strong attention to safety organization and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Chip Processing (Primary): Operate chip spinner equipment to remove coolant from metal chips and ensure proper separation by material type.
- Load and unload chip bins monitor chip processing equipment and report any performance or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of chip processing and scrap areas.
- Material Handling (Secondary): Transport raw materials WIP and finished goods between departments to support production flow.
- Supply machines with materials as needed to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Move completed parts to secondary operations inspection or shipping areas.
- Assist with staging organizing and tracking inventory throughout the facility.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts pallet jacks carts and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed).
- Perform daily equipment checks and report any safety or maintenance issues.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all plant safety procedures including proper PPE usage.
- Maintain clean aisles workspaces and material storage areas.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or process concerns.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve material flow and workplace organization.

- Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of different metal types (steel aluminum brass) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a machining environment.
