Interim CFO PE-Backed E-Commerce Business (180m Revenue)
Role
A private equity-backed e-commerce business with approximately 180m in annual revenue is seeking an experienced Interim CFO to support the business through a critical phase of growth performance optimisation and strategic finance transformation.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with investors and the wider leadership team the Interim CFO will take ownership of the finance function across a multi-entity international environment. The role will focus on strengthening financial control improving commercial visibility enhancing cash and working capital management and supporting value creation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and stabilising the finance function across FP&A accounting treasury tax and reporting
- Delivering high-quality monthly reporting forecasting and KPI analysis for management and shareholders
- Driving cash flow management liquidity planning and working capital optimisation
- Supporting commercial decision-making through data-driven financial insight and performance analysis
- Partnering with the PE sponsor and executive team on strategic initiatives including operational improvements and scalability planning
- Reviewing and improving finance processes systems controls and reporting structures
- Managing banking relationships covenant reporting and external stakeholders including auditors and advisors
- Supporting potential refinancing M&A activity or exit readiness initiatives where required
- Acting as a hands-on finance leader capable of operating both strategically and operationally within a fast-paced environment
Candidate
The successful candidate will be a seasoned CFO or senior finance leader with strong experience in private equity-backed businesses ideally within e-commerce consumer retail digital or other fast-moving multi-channel environments.
Key requirements include:
- Proven track record as a CFO or Interim CFO within PE-backed businesses
- Experience operating in businesses of similar scale and complexity (100m revenue)
- Strong understanding of e-commerce and consumer-driven business models including margin management inventory dynamics and cash flow optimisation
- Demonstrated ability to lead finance transformation and performance improvement initiatives
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational and strategic decision-making
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships with private equity investors lenders and boards
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and fast-changing environments
- Strong analytical communication and leadership capabilities
- Prior experience supporting refinancing M&A integration or exit processes is advantageous
- Availability to start at short notice is preferred
The assignment is expected to run for an initial 612 month period with flexibility depending on business requirements and project scope.
