Within our Analytical Services team we have a functional service provider solution which is an outstanding partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff while allowing you the employee to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company all while maintaining full-time benefits.

We are seeking a highly motivated Protein Scientist with a strong interest in molecular biology expression technologies and protein purification to join our client dedicated team in Stevenage.

This is a fully labbased role focused on protein expression and purification workflows. The successful candidate will be an organised proactive experimental scientist with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Isolate and purify plasmid DNA using both manual and automated approaches.

• Express protein reagents in mammalian and E. coli systems for a variety of downstream applications.

• Conduct purification of expressed proteins using ÄKTA purification systems

• Maintain accurate detailed experimental records in laboratory notebooks and data systems.

• Work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary matrix teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent) with 1 years of laboratory experience ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.

• Demonstrated expertise in DNA purification mammalian expression systems and protein purification techniques.

• Familiarity with aseptic technique.

• Experience using ÄKTA purification systems.

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage workload and meet agreed timelines.

• Proven flexibility collaborative mindset and strong teamwork abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Exemplary recordkeeping and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with molecular biology design and analysis software tools.

• Experience with Sanger and NGS data analysis.

• Handson experience with laboratory automation and mediumhighthroughput workflows.
