Join Close Brothers Compliance Team where you will be responsible forestablishing maintaining and overseeing an effective Compliance and Financial Crime Framework for theHigh-CostCredit firmin accordance withCentral Bank of Ireland (CBI) requirements. This role provides independent second-line oversight ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation including the Consumer Protection Code (CPC)High-CostCredit Regulations AML/CFT legislation Fitness & Probity requirements and all applicable sectoral obligations.

The role holder is the primary liaison with the Central Bank of Ireland for all conduct and AML/CFT matters and will promote a strong consumer-focused risk-aware and compliant culture across the business.

This role is designated as a PreApproval Controlled Function (PCF12 PCF14 and PCF 52)under the Central Bank of Irelands Fitness and Probity Regime. Appointment is subject to prior approval by the Central Bank of Ireland. The successful candidate must meet and continue to meet the Fitness and Probity Standards including competence capability honesty integrity and financial soundness. Comprehensive due diligence and background checks will be conducted as part of the assessment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct Risk and Compliance

  • Oversee relevant controls policies procedures and training to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that adequate record keeping is evident.
  • Oversee the effective management of customer complaints ensuring high-qualitytimelyresponsesand root-cause insights to improve customer outcomes.

Financial Crime (Anti Money Laundering & Countering Terrorist Financing)

  • Ensureappropriate monitoringof AML/CFT controls and the overall Financial Crime Programme.
  • Ensure the provision of AML/CFT and Financial Crime training for all relevant staff.

Risk Management

  • Contribute to the delivery of the annual risk plan ensuringappropriate coverageof all key risk areas.
  • Oversee the risk management framework ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.

Governance & Reporting

  • Chair and manage the Risk & Compliance Committee ensuring well-governed operation and clear reporting.
  • Ensure all governance and compliance requirements are met including regulatory reporting and Board-level reporting.

People Management

  • Provide effective line management and daytoday supervision of team members including objective setting performance management coaching and development.
  • Ensure team members have the appropriate skills experience training and ongoing professional development to perform their roles effectively and in line with regulatory and internal requirements

Developing Our People:as a line manager you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience in Compliance Financial Crime or Risk within a regulated financial services environment preferably consumer lending or high-cost credit.
  • Strong understanding of CBI regulations including the Consumer Protection CodeHigh-CostCredit Regulations AML/CFT requirements and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience working in a financial crime role with exposure to AML/CFT and sanctions processes.
  • Strong analyticalorganisational and communication skills.
  • Experience working with senior management and regulators.
  • Familiarity with Irish regulatory requirements relating to credit and lending activities.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Knowledge across all key risk disciplines.
  • Audit or assurance experience.
  • Experience in a PCF role under Fitness & Probity.
  • A professional Diploma in Compliance (LCI)
