Title of Position: BILINGUAL PARENT LIAISON
SUMMER DISCOVERY ACADEMY
Work Year: July 6 2026 - July 30 2026
Monday - Thursday
7:30 am to 12:00 pm - Nettle Middle School
Trainings in June - Dates TBD
Effective Date of Employment: Immediately Upon Appointment
Salary: Your contractual hourly rate(if for any reason the candidate selected does not complete the appointment compensation will be prorated based upon time served)
Organizational Relationship
Or Line of Authority: Director of Out-of-School Time Programming
In Collaboration with the Offices of Title I and Title III
Statement of Duties:
- Translate written documents as needed.
- Make/take phone calls to/from Spanish-speaking families as needed by school personnel.
- Interpret during a variety of school meetings including: report card conferences discipline special education IEP meetings new student/family orientation meetings speech and language evaluations among others.
- Develop and maintain constructive and trusting relationships with families and staff.
- Represent the school professionally and courteously.
- Regularly utilize the district Google scheduling calendar for all meetings appointments etc.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate parent/school needs with regard to attending meetings.
Qualifications:
- Possess an Associates Degree or higher preferred.
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Must have excellent verbal and written processing skills.
- Competent English and Spanish literacy skills.
- Must have strong written skills in another language.
- Must have good organization and time management skills.
- Must have skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
- Must be able to relate positively with others as evidenced by evaluations and/or references.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
