Job Summary
Machine Operator - 1st Shift
Hours:Monday-Friday from 7:00am-4:30pm
Overview: As a Machine Operator in our Rough Mill department you will be cutting and processing lumber into pallet components. You will be responsible for following set up procedures for machines/saws for optimal efficiency and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Train on all saws and cutting equipment and meet production standards on each machine
- Set up machines according to set run using proper lockout tagout and hand tools. Be able to crawl in and under machine.
- Operate saw and cut down lumber into proper size
- Sort and inspect pallet components. Throw out any bad lumber into a bin.
- Sort and stack pallets according to customers requirements
- Keep daily log of work done to turn into shift supervisor at end of each shift
- Wear all personal protective equipment required including but not limited to hearing protection safety glasses and safety toed shoes
- Clean up the work area during and at end of each shift using the proper tools by crawling and reaching in and around the machine.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
