Summer Maintenance Worker (High School Student Position)

Position Overview

Santa Fe South Charter Schools is seeking dependable hardworking high school students to join our Summer Maintenance Team. This seasonal position provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience while helping prepare school campuses for the upcoming school year. Students will assist with a variety of maintenance cleaning and campus improvement projects under the supervision of the maintenance department.

This is a great opportunity for students who are responsible team-oriented and willing to learn practical workplace and maintenance skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with summer campus cleaning organization and maintenance projects.
• Help move furniture supplies and classroom materials as needed.
• Support painting light repairs and basic facility upkeep projects.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of school grounds and buildings.
• Safely use basic tools equipment and cleaning supplies under supervision.
• Help prepare classrooms and common areas for the upcoming school year.
• Follow all district safety procedures and expectations.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance staff and other student workers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current high school student preferred.
• Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow directions and work respectfully with supervisors and team members.
• Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments during summer weather conditions.
• Ability to lift carry push or move materials and equipment as needed.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Compensation & Schedule

• $12.50 per hour
• MondayFriday
• 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.
• Seasonal summer employment position

Work Environment

This position involves physical activity including standing walking lifting bending and working both indoors and outdoors. Students will be supervised by Santa Fe South maintenance staff throughout the summer program.
