Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Specialist to support a wide range of HR functions. This role plays a key part in recruiting onboarding compliance employee relations and training initiatives.

You will work closely with local teams as well as our corporate office in Omaha NE to ensure consistent HR practices and support operational success across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and coordinate interviews with leadership
• Manage onboarding processes including paperwork drug screenings DOT physicals and background checks
• Support EEO and/or Affirmative Action reporting requirements
• Communicate and enforce company drug and alcohol policies
• Conduct annual reviews and updates of driver files to ensure DOT compliance
• Coordinate benefit enrollment distribute annual information and confirm employee participation
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies procedures and benefits
• Coordinate company events including annual kick-off meetings year-end events and employee appreciation activities
• Provide guidance to management on company policies compliance and employment laws
• Lead employee retention initiatives and support positive employee relations

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in human resources Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3 years of relevant HR experience required
• Experience with DOT driver compliance requirements preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
