Description
This position is responsible for assisting in the development administration and supervision of the athletic training programs designated by the supervisor. This position also assists in coordinating and executing all primary and secondary insurance claims concerning student athlete injury and treatment.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Essential Job Duties
- Observe and evaluate the health status of student athletes during practices andcompetitions;
- Make referrals to team physicians;
- Provide direct supervision over designated athletic programs;
- Assist inthesupervision over designated athletic programs practices/workouts;
- Travel with the designated athletic programs to and from allcompetitions;
- Provide oversight of the health and wellness of the designated athletic programs;
- Assist in maintaining health records of all student athletes using the athletic trainingroom;
- Assist in the supervision of graduate assistants and student employees;
- Assist in the developmentand implementationof policies and procedures;
- Assist in the administration of drug-screening programs for all studentathletes;
- Assist in the administration of insurance coverage for all student athletes both domestic andinternational;
- Assist supervisors coworkers and team physicians in pre-participation physicalexaminations;
- Assist in determining and maintaining proper coverage for all sports;
- Work with team physicians in determining athletes status of return to play to their respective sports;
- Assist in coordinating with health services regarding the health status of the studentathletes;
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in health physical education or athletic training (or a closely related field) is required.
LICENSES CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification certified required;
- Current and ongoing CPR certification is required.
