The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is seeking to fillCivil EngineerVI positions throughout the island.
Special Work Requirements- Occasional exposure to construction and traffic hazards sewage gases sewer treatment chemicals paint fumes noise electrical hazards and moving equipment.
- Some physical dexterity is required to occasionally perform field investigations which include: climbing ladders descending into trenches tanks and manholes crawling thru pipes carrying sampling measuring and testing equipment and walking on uneven or obstructed surfaces.
- Regular hours are anticipated but may require shift evening night weekend or holiday work to accommodate unusual problems or workload.
- Will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared civil defense emergencies.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelors degree in an engineering specialty.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of registered professional civil engineering experience including or supplemented by one year in supervising or being responsible for an engineering operation or function.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
- Possession of an appropriate valid drivers license (Type 3/automobile) as required.
- Current State of Hawaii registration as a professional Civil Engineer.
