Summary of Job Duties:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Food Programs in the Center for Community Engagement will assist in co-advising the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry and Razorback Food Recovery (RFR) teams of the Volunteer Action Center. The GA will help student leaders with volunteer management for both programs and continually improve upon processes that center feeding university and Northwest Arkansas communities. Additionally the GA will provide developmental advising to student leaders informed by theory with the goal of supporting personal and programmatic success. They will oversee weekly one on one meetings with team leadership attend weekly board meetings attend weekly Center for Community Engagement meetings and assist in supporting the practical operations of both teams. The GA will also be responsible for supporting and managing collaborations with both community and campus partnerships. The GA will report to full-time staff in the Center for Community Engagement. A typical week in this position will often involve advising students in one-on-one meetings attending standing meetings supporting pantry operations by serving clients and supporting RFR operations by recovering and distributing food on and off-campus. This position is a 12-month role beginning in the fall.
Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.
This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as Leadership Perspective Awareness Professionalism and Communication.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Enrollment in a graduate degree-seeking program at the University of Arkansas
A GPA no lower than a 3.0
Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree programs in Higher Education Administration Public Administration Public Health Counseling or Social Work
Experience with community engagement programming community support services event coordination student activities and/or student organizations

Compensation & Benefits:

Hours and Schedule:
The position is designed to be a 20 hour perweekin-person commitment.
Weekly office hours are set byGraduateAssistant with flexible scheduling based on academic commitments.
Weekly office hourstypicallyworkedbetween 8am-5pm Thursday eveningboardmeetings until 6pm and somepre-scheduled events outside of business hours.
Hoursdeterminedon a semesterly basis and flexible around academic commitments.
