Supply Manager I
The Department of Administrations Division of State Agencies Support Services is seeking a Supply Manager I to join the team! This position works within the State Surplus Property Program that promotes and facilitates the sustainable reuse of personal surplus property to state and local governments qualifying non-profit entities and the public.In this role you will manage the operation of the Surplus Property dispatching and vehicle fleet maintenance as well as operate trucks from the Surplus Property Distribution center to pick up property from federal installations and state entities.

Responsibilities of the Supply Manager I:
  • Operate a tractor and trailer from Surplus Property to federal installations and state agencies. Maintain schedule for state and federal collections publish same to all parties warehouse both federal and state inventory control and management.
  • Regularly inspect all equipment for cleanliness and remedial action for repairs.
  • Assist in loading and unloading truck promptly to ensure future schedules are met. Turn-in truck driver paperwork to receiving.
  • Learn and implement scrap metal procedures to serve as backup as needed.
  • Keep tractor trailers in a clean operating condition and inspect tires lights floors etc. to ensure the equipment is suitable to operate in a safe manner. Perform vehicle and trailer inspections either pre or post trip for possible defects for correction.
  • Assist in other areas of Surplus property to include screening sales and transportation of state vehicles pricing and processing of state and federal property to help provide good customer service to the agencies served.
  • Perform other related duties as required. Stay abreast of highway and federal ICC regulations for South Carolina and bordering states to ensure compliance.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and experience in truck driving operating a crane or operating a motor vessel.
  • Must have 3 years of experience driving tractor trailers.
  • Must have a valid South Carolina Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
Additional Requirements:
  • Employee is also subject to Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing rules.
  • Employee must be able to secure loads on a low boy and flatbed trailers.
  • Position may require overnight travel.
  • Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
  • Position requires on-call shifts and call back.
  • Position requires routine driver duties.
  • Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
  • Position requires up-to-date certification(s).
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
