Position Description:
The Care Management Supervisor serves in a supervisory role to the IL staff and is responsible for the oversight of the departments day-to-day operations. He/she is the first point of contact for staff and partner agencies and helps to assign and delegate tasks to the appropriate IL staff person. This position also ensures adequate staff coverage for incoming calls and walk-in consumers in all DAWN offices. He/she ensures that he/she is informed of any developments in legislation or other advocacy or policy changes that consumers and staff should be aware of. They are a support to the direct case managers on the Unit as well as managing a caseload of their own consumers.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise staff providing independent living and case management services to persons with disabilities and/or families.
- Coordinate referrals and ensure seamless consistent support of consumers receiving IL services while simultaneously involved in other DAWN programs
- Conduct periodic Review of case records and documentation pertinent to program to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Facilitate disputes arising from the provision of Independent Living services.
- Ensure timely distribution of consumer satisfaction surveys and track rate of return and results
- Maintain collaborative relationships with federal state and private agencies/nonprofit organizations that serve persons with disabilities.
- Participate in case coordination for consumers through the Traumatic Brain Injury Fund Statewide Respite Program and Morris County Case Management.
- Identify legislative issues and initiatives pertinent to our consumer base communicate relevant information to administration for review and oversee implementation of advocacy efforts.
- Research and identify professional development opportunities and trainings for the IL staff
- Assess existing program components periodically to remain current and ensure program compliance.
- Identify gaps in services and communicate information to administration
- Demonstrate an understanding of the mission and role of organization as a Center for Independent Living and communicate information clearly and concisely to others.
- Deliver Independent Living services to consumers by assisting individuals and families in identifying and accessing supports and servicesthrough specific programs/providers
- Provide information and referral to consumers their families and the general public.
- Provide statistical and other input for the development of annual and long-range plans.
- Attend all internal staff meetings trainings and in services as required
- Participate in agency wide outreach efforts and special events.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
- Knowledge of and support for the Independent Living Philosophy;
- Ability to successfully relate to and communicate with people with disabilities their families other organizations agencies volunteers and consumers
- Knowledge of programs and services benefits entitlements and supports available to persons with disabilities as needed;
- Experience using Windows editions 8-10 including expertise in utilizing: Outlook; Skype; Microsoft Word/ Excel PowerPoint Publisher
- Strong team player willing to take direction initiate business activities and work with management staff and peers;
- Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision/direction;
- Professional demeanor and presentation;
- Have strong and effective spoken and written communication skills.

Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Social Services or related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis
- Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity
- Basic computer skills internet research operation of standard office machinery and Assistive devices such as video relay system 711 etc.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Working conditions
Standard Work Week is in Denville office Mon-Fri. 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Requires field visits and attendance at community based meetings therefore ideal candidate must have access to transportation. Mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle.
- This position has no required physical elements needing special designation.

Job contingent upon proof of a valid driver license and proof of auto insurance coverage limits of at least $100000 / $300000.
Compensation: $62000 to $75000 annually
