Penick Village is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Coordinator (LPN or RN) to join our team at the Garden Cottage our specialized memory support cottage. This position plays a vital leadership role in ensuring high-quality resident care while supporting staff families and the overall daily operations of the cottage.
Primary Responsibility:
The primary purpose of this job position is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning organizing developing and directing the day-to-day functions of Assisted Living in accordance with current federal state and local standards guidelines and regulations that govern our community and as may be directed by the Healthcare Administrator and/or the Director of Nursing to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
As Residential Coordinator you are delegated the administrative authority responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned the absence of the Director of Nursing Services you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by Penick Village.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise Med Techs. Med Aides and CNAs
Conduct/Oversee Dementia Training
New Med Tech Medication Administration Check-off
Coordinate/Conduct Care Plans for Assisted Living Residents
Complete/Assist with gathering information for required documentation as assigned by Director of Nursing
Daily Room Rounds
Oversee Day-to-Day functions of Assisted Living
Completion of assigned forms which may include FL 2 DMA Care Plans etc.
Take Administrative On-Call
Oversee Resident MD appointments
Medication Room and Medication Cart audits monitoring for cleanliness expired medication and other areas as assigned.
Monitors staff in administration of medication to include frequents audits of medication administration records (MAR).
Observes residents records significant reactions and notifies community leadership of residents condition and reaction to drugs treatments and significant incidents.
Responds promptly to all emergency calls from residents.
Communicates to families regarding residents personal needs and achievements.
Reminds families of need for scheduled physician dental or eye appointments.
Assigns vital signs to associates and monitors compliance.
Assures medical services such as podiatrist doctor visits psych visits labs x-ray ambulance etc. are scheduled and followed through.
Assists in organizing and developing care plan reviews as required with appropriate resident care team members and resident families.
Participates in the maintenance of resident charts including review of documentation by the staff.
Other duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
Current RN/LPN License in North Carolina.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Current CPR certified.
Supervisory experience preferred
Meeting continuing education requirements to maintain current RN/LPN license.
Organizational skills.
Professional attitude and attire.
