Purpose

The IT Project Managerplans and implements the CitysEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system including monitoring the ApplicationService Provider (ASP) contract for production availability and managedservices and planning/implementing upgrades and extensions to the systems.

Essential Functions

Project Management

  • Develop project plans schedules milestones budgets and resource requirements for ERP-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities resources vendors equipment and information needed to support implementation and ongoing system improvements.
  • Monitor project scope schedule budget deliverables and risks; identify issues and coordinate resolution.
  • Use project management tools and methods to track project performance staff time expenditures and progress.
  • Monitor performance service levels and deliverables and issue resolution related to ERP system availability and managed services.
  • Oversee other non-ERP projects such as implementations upgrades or enhancements to Telestaff CityTime JobAps Bonfire AssetWorks and iNovah.

Project Coordination

  • Work with City departments and stakeholders to identify business needs define project requirements and establish scope and objectives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and communicate project status issues and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure departmental needs are addressed as projects evolve.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of project status reports service metrics and related documentation.

Management

  • Assign direct supervise and review the work of ERP support staff based on project and operational needs.
  • Provide coaching mentoring training and guidance to staff to support performance and professional development.
  • Monitor workload productivity and service levels to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Participate in performance management activities including providing input on performance evaluations employee development and corrective action.

Documentation Reporting and Training

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation implementation plans reports and related records.
  • Develop and coordinate training materials for new systems enhancements and features.
  • Work with user departments to support training for end users and promote successful adoption of system changes.

Conditions of Employment

  • Evening and weekend work may be required to troubleshoot issues and to meet implementation and upgrade requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelors degree in computer science information technology business administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  2. Five years of professional-level experience performing functions related to IT project management configuration business process mapping allocation of resources for enterprise-level applications and leading IT development staff.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may beconsidered.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Professional Scrum Master (PSM) PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or a similar Agile certification.

  • Knowledge of IT project management principles methods and tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret job-related technical documents policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of mathematics and the ability to make accurate calculations for budgets.
  • Ability to understand purchasing and budget processes.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with a variety of people including stakeholders coworkers city officials and the public.
  • Customer service skills to assist stakeholders with inquiries or problems.
  • Written communication skills to write clear and error-free correspondence reports and procedures.
  • Verbal communication to effectively communicate with members of the public stakeholders and other city departments.

  • Knowledge of leadership principles and best practices for motivating coaching and counseling employees.
  • Ability to assign and review work set goals and outline duties.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the work of others.

Current Salary

The current salary range (Pay Range1NX) is $116493 -$158909annually and the resident incentive salary range for City ofMilwaukee residents is $121153- $165265annually.Appointmentabove the minimum is possible based upon level of experience and otherqualifications and is subject to approval.
