About Starick
Starick is a not-for-profit organisation operating primarily in the Perth Metropolitan South-East Corridor. Starick supports women children and young people experiencing and escaping family and domestic violence across the continuum of prevention early intervention crisis and healing.
We are seeking a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to join our team on a fixedterm basis for six months with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role.
About the Role
The WHS Officer plays a key role in coordinating and strengthening Staricks work health and safety systems with a strong focus on proactive preventative and practical approaches to both physical and psychosocial safety.
During the initial fixedterm period the role will have a specific focus on:
- Coordinating a comprehensive insurerled WHS audit
- Supporting the organisations response to audit findings
- Implementing WHS improvements procedural requirements and psychosocial risk controls through effective consultation and change management
The role works closely with the People and Culture team managers Health and Safety Representatives and the WHS Committee to embed sustainable WHS practices across multiple service sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating compliance with WHS legislation regulations and codes of practice including psychosocial hazard obligations
- Supporting and liaising with insurers auditors and other external stakeholders
- Coordinating and monitoring WHS audit actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting incident hazard and nearmiss reporting investigation and trend analysis
- Assisting managers to identify assess and control physical and psychosocial risks
- Supporting consultation processes through the WHS Committee and HSR network
- Contributing to WHS change management communication and training activities
About you
You are a collaborative and organised WHS professional who enjoys working in a complex peoplefocused environment and supporting meaningful safety improvements.
You will bring:
- A relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety or significant demonstrated WHS experience
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements including psychosocial risks
- Experience supporting WHS audits risk assessments and incident management processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work across multiple sites and engage with diverse teams
- Experience in the community services or notforprofit sector or working with insurers or auditors will be highly regarded.

- Working with Children Check
- Current WA Drivers Licence
