Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Thanks to the generous people in our community for over thirty-one years Angels Place has provided homes and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to participate in that legacy by joining the Angels Place development team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Build relationships with current volunteers. Recruit and onboard new volunteers and match to service opportunities.
Assist in planning of the organizations established giving programs via social media campaigns. Key fundraising campaigns include:
- Disabilities Awareness Month (March)
- Volunteer Awareness Month (April)
- Year End Appeal (November)
Assist with planning and administration of annual events including:
- Golf Outing (July)
- Tennis and Pickleball Outing (August)
- Fall Fest (October)
- Its A Miracle Dinner (November)
- Two donor member events
Participate in the creation of development and marketing materials including quarterly newsletter annual report website and email communications and social media posts.
This list is not exhaustive and additional work may be added at the request of the Chief Development Officer or at times the CEO.
Reports to the Chief Development Officer

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- Required: High School Graduate
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree
Experience:
- At least three years of development fundraising event coordination nonprofit volunteer coordination or related experience with a track record of increased responsibility.
- Experience with:
- DonorView or similar fundraising database preferred
- Publishing and photo-editing software such as Canva
- Microsoft Office suite
- Social media platforms
Knowledge and Skills:
- Find meaning in work with people impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong administrative and time management skills with attention to detail
- A professional and resourceful style able to work independently as a team player
- Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously exceptional follow through skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with all related volunteers committees and donors
- Writing skills to compose clear concise and comprehensive correspondence and other written materials
Other Requirements:
- Must pass physical drug screen TB test (paid by Angels Place)
- Must pass Michigan State Police and FBI fingerprint criminal history background check.
- Must possess a valid Michigan drivers license and maintain a responsible driving record

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Full time in person at our office in Southfield (near Northwestern Hwy. and Franklin Rd.) M-F 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Some evening and weekends are required. An Annual Planning Calendar indicates when these events will be for planning ahead
Occasional local travel required
