- 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Compensation
- Pay Rate: $30 $33/hour

Position Overview
A healthcare facility in Long Beach California is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The technician will be responsible for the decontamination assembly sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety quality and infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate clean inspect assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Disassemble and reassemble complex surgical instruments according to manufacturer guidelines
- Assemble and package instrument trays accurately for surgical procedures
- Operate washers sterilizers autoclaves and related processing equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and damage
- Document missing damaged or malfunctioning equipment
- Maintain sterilization records inventory levels and processing documentation
- Follow infection control protocols ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs)
- Collaborate effectively with operations distribution staff and healthcare teams
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required (CRCST CIS or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on sterile processing experience required
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments sterilization methods and infection control practices required
- Experience operating washer disinfectors autoclaves and sterilization equipment required
- Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and IFUs preferred
Skills & Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance focus
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and SOPs
- Basic computer and electronic documentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
