Product Design Manager

About the Role

Were hiring a Design Manager to lead Lending at Chime including Instant Loans and MyPay and push the boundaries of what financial experiences can be. Youll own a high-impact product area leading a team to deliver best-in-class design while partnering closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy and outcomes. This is a space where the details matter: clarity trust and usability arent nice-to-haves theyre essential to helping members make real financial progress.

This role is also an opportunity to explore whats next. Youll help define how AI can be thoughtfully integrated into lending experiences making them more responsive personalized and intuitive without sacrificing transparency. Along the way youll raise the bar on craft mentor and grow designers and build systems that scale all while delivering experiences used by millions of members every day.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $202000 and up to $280000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus competitive equity package and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher depending on your location skills qualifications and experience.

In this role you can expect to

• Lead and grow a team of product designers working across lending experiences (Instant Loans MyPay)
• Set a high bar for craft ensuring polished thoughtful and cohesive end-to-end experiences
• Drive product strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders shaping roadmaps and outcomes
• Champion member-centric design grounded in research data and experimentation
• Identify and integrate AI-driven opportunities to improve user experience and decisioning
• Establish scalable design patterns and systems across lending surfaces
• Mentor designers and build a strong inclusive and high-performing team culture

To thrive in this role you have

• Experience leading product design teams delivering consumer-facing digital products
• A portfolio demonstrating strong craft across interaction visual and systems design
• Evidence of influencing product strategy and driving measurable outcomes
• Experience working on complex high-stakes domains (e.g. financial products lending risk or adjacent spaces)
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product Engineering and Data
• Exposure to or experience integrating AI/ML into product experiences
• A track record of hiring developing and retaining strong design talent
