Position: Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatrics
Salary Range: $29.50 - $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time split position between two facilities on the same campus
Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday with occasional weekend shifts as needed
Job Description:
This client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to provide exceptional care to our geriatric patients. This is a unique opportunity to work in a split position between two facilities on the same campus allowing for a diverse and fulfilling work experience.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical impairments or disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the development and implementation of treatment plans conducting therapeutic exercises and activities and monitoring patient progress.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care and a passion for helping older adults maintain their mobility and independence. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential as you will be working closely with patients their families and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing treatment plans for geriatric patients
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients strength mobility and range of motion
- Monitor and record patient progress making adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities to continue at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in patient care and treatment
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in geriatric care preferred
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude
- Willingness to work a split position between two facilities on the same campus
- Flexibility to work occasional weekend shifts as needed
