About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst II / Tax Analyst to join a dynamic finance and tax team supporting NextEra Energy. This role focuses on tax compliance financial analysis and reporting supporting both ongoing operations and project-based initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal state and local tax returns including schedules extensions and payment estimates
- Support corporate income tax partnership and consolidated tax filings
- Conduct financial and economic analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Interpret financial reports and tax data to support business decisions
- Research and respond to government agency inquiries related to compliance and filings
- Prepare tax calculations and documentation to support tax audits and controversy analyses
- Support tax assumptions and modeling for business and project initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
- Utilize tools like Excel and financial systems for analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 2 years of experience in tax accounting or financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles
- Strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
- Masters degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with corporate and partnership tax filings
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and tax research
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule:
- Monday & Friday: Remote
- Tuesday Thursday: Onsite (Houston office)
- Initial training period will be fully onsite
