Job Summary
For more than 50 years Smithers Distribution Testing in Lansing MI has provided package and distribution testing solutions to help reduce shipment damage troubleshoot packaging and supply chain issues identify cost reduction opportunities meet sustainability requirements and more.

SUMMARY: Complete distribution testing projects for packaging in multiple industries by operating test equipment (vibration tables impact machines etc.) and driving a forklift to move materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize test equipment to complete projects accurately.
Perform facility or equipment maintenance repairs restoration and organization as needed and required.
Capture and manage project and lab data activities using database.
Safely operate forklifts.
Leverage good documentation practices as required.
Other duties as assigned.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to learnâor experience with hands on laboratory testing.
Ability to learnâor experience with a forklift.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Teams Excel Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Mathematical aptitude to solve basic problems by leveraging practical and scientific logic.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) is preferred.
Forklift experience is preferred.
