Job Summary
A leading Japanese travel company is seeking an experienced and bilingual Accounting professional to join our team in Oahu Hawaii. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can oversee accounting operations support financial reporting and collaborate with both U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders.
- Position: Accounting Manager / Senior Accounting Manager
- Location: Oahu Hawaii (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards tax regulations and internal policies
- Coordinate with external auditors tax advisors and corporate headquarters in Japan
- Manage budgeting forecasting and cash flow reporting
- Lead and mentor accounting staff while improving operational processes and internal controls
- Support business planning and financial analysis for management decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and travel business teams
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
- 7 years of Finance & Accounting experience preferred
- 5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role preferred
- Business-level bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (spoken and written)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience working in an international or Japanese company environment is preferred
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
