Hospital Controller Amarillo TX
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced healthcare finance leader to join a growing hospital in the Amarillo market as Controller. This is a highly visible leadership role within a newer hospital environment where the Controller will play a key role in both financial operations and overall hospital leadership.
This hospital opened in late 2025 and continues to grow steadily currently operating with approximately 50 beds and an average daily census in the mid-20s. The leadership team is collaborative supportive and team-oriented offering a strong balance between operational excellence and quality of life.
Compensation & Highlights:
Salary range: $115000$125000
Bonus plan targeting 25% of base salary
Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
In-office leadership role (MondayFriday)
Strong regional operational and financial support
Opportunity to help shape and grow a newer hospital operation
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee the hospitals accounting and financial operations while serving as an active member of the leadership team. This role requires both strong technical finance expertise and the ability to collaborate operationally across departments.
This is not a behind-the-scenes accounting role. The Controller will be visible throughout the hospital involved in operations leadership initiatives and even patient rounding alongside the executive team.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee hospital financial operations including:
- General accounting
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Labor management
- Revenue and expense analysis
- Internal controls
- Capital planning
- Contract review and negotiations
- Utilization review support
Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls and compliance processes
Prepare operational and financial reports for hospital and regional leadership
Partner closely with department leaders to improve operational efficiency and financial performance
Participate in hospital leadership activities and Administrator On-Call rotation as needed
Supervise two direct reports:
- AP/Payroll Specialist
- Central Supply
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required; MBA preferred
CPA is a plus but not required
Minimum of five years of hospital accounting or healthcare finance experience preferred
Prior leadership or management experience required preferably overseeing small teams
Strong understanding of healthcare financial operations budgeting forecasting labor management and financial analysis
Experience building and maintaining strong internal control environments
Candidates local to the Amarillo area are strongly preferred though relocation assistance may be considered for the right individual
