Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (36 Hours/Week)
Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required

Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Renal/Medical-Surgical for a travel assignment in a specialized renal and transplant care unit. This role involves caring for patients with kidney disease dialysis needs transplant recovery and complex medical-surgical conditions in a high-acuity inpatient setting.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment adaptability and experience working with medically complex patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to renal transplant and medical-surgical patients
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Monitor kidney transplant patients during recovery and ongoing treatment
- Perform peritoneal dialysis care (manual and cycler methods) as required
- Care for patients with complex renal and multisystem medical conditions
- Monitor telemetry patients when assigned
- Administer medications and evaluate patient responses
- Accurately document patient care within EMR systems
- Collaborate with nephrologists transplant teams and interdisciplinary staff
- Educate patients and families regarding renal disease management and transplant recovery
- Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards
- Float to other units based on staffing needs
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based nursing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ANA standards and state nursing regulations
Required Qualifications
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required
- Diploma in Nursing required (BSN preferred)
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- Previous Medical-Surgical or Renal nursing experience preferred
- Strong renal dialysis or transplant care knowledge highly preferred
- Ability to work night shifts weekends and holidays
- Excellent critical thinking and patient assessment skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to float between units as needed
