Key Responsibilities
Evaluate residents conditions and develop individualized physical rehabilitation plans
Help residents improve mobility and functional independence
Relieve pain using exercises hands-on therapy stretching and physical therapy devices
Assist residents in using physical therapy equipment effectively
Guide residents through therapy tasks monitoring their performance and progress
Inform residents about what they should expect at different stages of their recovery
Supervise physical therapy assistants when required
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts to ensure comprehensive resident care
Treat residents to help them achieve long-term health benefits and improve overall mobility and quality of life
Requirements
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program (Masters Degree or higher)
Current New York State PT License (required)
Experience:
0-30 years of experience considered
Experience in skilled nursing/long-term care settings preferred
English language proficiency required
Certifications:
Valid New York State Physical Therapy License (required)
