About NACCHO

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national leadership body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in Australia. We are seeking two Senior Project Officers to join our Maternal and Child Health team to help drive important initiatives that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About the Role

The Senior Program Officer will play a key role in supporting our strategic priorities and engaging with government community-controlled health services and experts across the sector.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:

  • Manage the FASD Advisory Group and strengthen sector engagement.
  • Drive awareness of FASD and expand the reach of NACCHOs Strong Born campaign.
  • Engage with experts and communities to improve diagnosis awareness and support for people living with FASD.
  • Represent NACCHO as appropriate at meetings conferences and events

About You

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (highly desirable).
  • Experience in a similar organisation (NFP Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or relevant government department).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • A background in public health social work health programs advocacy or business administration/management.
